5K RACE BENEFITING YOUTH HAVEN PLANNED FOR FEBRUARY 8, 2020

Palmetto Ridge High School’s Spanish Honor Society is hosting a 5k color run on Saturday, February 8th at North Collier Regional Park to benefit Youth Haven. NCEF TRUSTEE DAY BENEFITS YOUTH HAVEN

Naples, FL (January 24, 2020)

On Wednesday, January 15th, the Naples Children & Education Foundation, founders of the Naples Wine Festival and Cal Ripken, Sr. Foundation hosted a “Build-Out and Celebration Day” at Youth Haven. More than 30 NCEF trustees and staff members built a community garden and donated items such as sports equipment, toiletries and clothing. We’re grateful for their ongoing support!

YOUTH HAVEN, INC.’S HOLIDAY DRIVE A SUCCESS

Naples, Fl (January 8, 2020).

Youth Haven, Inc. is pleased to announce that their 2019 holiday drive was extremely successful. As Southwest Florida’s only emergency and residential shelter for boys and girls ages 6-19 who have been removed from their homes due to abuse, neglect, abandonment or are homeless, Youth Haven relies on community support in order to help them achieve their goals. Numerous businesses, organizations and individuals hosted holiday drives, purchased items from our wish list or assisted with gift wrapping.

FIESTA FOR A PURPOSE TO SUPPORT YOUTH HAVEN ANNOUNCED

Fernandez the Bull Cuban Cafe & Bar – Midtown location, 3375 Pine Ridge Road, Unit 101, Naples, FL 34109, will be hosting a Fiesta for a Purpose on Tuesday, January 7, 2020 between 5:30 PM – 7:30 PM to support Youth Haven! Denise Murphy, Andres Paz, Amanda Beights, Dave Ridenhour and Rafael J. Feliciano will be the local celebrity bartenders with 100% of their tips going back to Youth Haven. Fernandez is also donating 25% of their proceeds that evening (5:30 PM – 9:00 PM) to Youth Haven.

YOUTH HAVEN’S GIVING TUESDAY A SUCCESS!

Naples, FL (December 16, 2019)

Youth Haven, Inc. is pleased to announce they had an extremely successful Giving Tuesday campaign on Tuesday, December 3, 2019. Giving Tuesday was created in 2012 to encourage people to do good and give back.

Youth Haven was presented with a $20,000 donation from The Trevor Smith Memorial Foundation. The Foundation hosted their annual fishing tournament, T-Rex One Last Cast, in October in Marco Island to raise funds. Youth Haven also received a $2,000 donation from United Way of Collier County as part of United Way’s efforts to give back to other organizations in honor of the movement. In addition to these two generous donations, multiple donations were received via Youth Haven’s online donation form.

All funds will support Youth Haven’s programs and services that support children and teens ages 6 – 19 that have been abused, abandoned, neglected or are homeless.

“We’re so grateful for the community’s support,” says Jinx Liggett, Youth Haven Executive Director. “Giving Tuesday is a wonderful way to give back and we are honored to be a recipient of so many people’s generosity.”

YOUTH HAVEN, INC. ANNOUNCES NEW BOARD OF DIRECTORS PRESIDENT

Youth Haven, Inc. is pleased to announce the appointment of Brenda O’Connor as President of their Board of Directors, effective November 2019. O’Connor fills the role previously held by Chief Stephanie Spell.

O’Connor is the Executive Director of Membership at the Naples Yacht Club. She has also served as Youth Haven’s past President of the Board of Directors and is currently a Soiree of the Season committee member, Youth Haven’s signature fundraising event that will be held on February 1, 2020.

YOUTH HAVEN, INC. AWARDED $7,500 GRANT FROM BANK OF AMERICA

Naples, FL (October 23, 2019)

Youth Haven, Inc. is pleased to announce they are a recipient of a $7,500.00 grant from Bank of America.

The grant was presented by Bank of America President Gerri Moll at the 2019 Bank of America Charitable Foundation Community Partner Grant Awards held at their Pine Ridge Financial Center on October 16, 2019. The funds received will benefit Youth Haven’s Homeless Teen Transitional Living Program, which is designed to help abused, neglected, and homeless teens transition to safe, healthy and responsible adulthood. The grant will allow Youth Haven to continue to build the program and provide assistance to teens who are in danger of becoming homeless.

“The Bank of America grant will allow us to continue to improve our Homeless Teen Transitional Living Program at Youth Haven. Working with a case manager, Youth Haven is able to develop individualized goals to help stabilize them and transition them to adult life, through counseling, therapy, education, training, transportation, referrals and employment services,” says Jinx Liggett, Executive Director. “This program is a life-changer for the teens that participate and we’re extremely thankful for Bank of America’s support.”

YOUTH HAVEN, INC. AWARDED $17,000 DONATION FROM HFTP – FLORIDA GULF COAST CHAPTER

Youth Haven, Inc. is pleased to announce they are a recipient of a $17,000 donation from the Hospitality Financial and Technology Professionals (HFTP®) – Florida Gulf Coast Chapter.

On October 10, 2019, during HFTP’s Board installation, a check was presented to Laura Lafakis, Youth Haven Development Manager. The money was raised at their 17th Annual Charity Golf Tournament held at Stonebridge Country Club in Naples, FL on June 8, 2019. HFTP’s goal was to raise $30,000 to divide between Youth Haven and Naples Therapeutic Riding Center. HFTP’s surpassed their goal by raising a record breaking $34,400.

HFTP stated on their Facebook page that they “couldn’t be more pleased to help Naples Therapeutic Riding Center and Youth Haven SWFL with the funds to support their causes as they contribute so much to our community. Thank you Laurie Rozeski and Debbie Formica for co-chairing this amazing charity event. Thank you to the Board and Committee for your efforts and support. Youth Haven’s financial health and commitment to accountability and transparency have earned it a 4-star rating from Charity Navigator, America’s largest independent charity evaluator. This is the fifth consecutive time that Youth Haven has earned this top distinction.
