Naples, Fl (June 20, 2022).
Youth Haven, Inc. is pleased to announce they received a $75,000 grant from the Richard M. Schulze Family Foundation.
The generous funding received will be used to support Youth Haven’s Safety and Security Program. Youth Haven is committed to keeping the children and teens dependent on Youth Haven for Home, Hope, and Healing safe and protected. The youth that arrive to our campus come from traumatic situations and are in dire need of healing and ensuring they are safe is the first step. Due to increased development around our once remote therapeutic campus and the increase in human trafficking, the need to enhance our security systems is needed.
Keeping our campus safe and secure allows our team to focus on what is essential: helping at-risk youth begin their healing process to handle their trauma. Youth Haven is Southwest Florida’s only residential shelter for boys and girls ages 10-19 who have been removed from their homes due to abuse, neglect, abandonment, or homelessness. Our programming is designed to address the trauma experienced and help them heal by providing them with innovative therapies, normalizing experiences, and therapeutic environments that assist with their healing journey.
The Richard M. Schulze Family Foundation (RMSFF) was created in 2004 by Best Buy founder, Dick Schulze, to give back to the communities where Dick and his family grew up — in Minnesota, where he built Best Buy to become the world’s largest consumer electronics retailer and in Florida, where he now maintains a permanent residence. Schulze and his family believe that a good education, a supportive family and a strong work ethic prepare children for a successful future. To support that belief, we support organizations operating in the areas of human & social services, education, including college and early learning scholarship awards and health & medicine.1
“We’re so grateful for the generous support from the Richard M. Schulze Family Foundation.,” said Linda Goldfield, Youth Haven Chief Executive Officer. “With their support, Youth Haven will be able to enhance our therapeutic campus, allowing us to continue to provide our youth with a safe place to live, sleep, learn, and heal.”
