Youth Haven welcomes Matthew Kragh and Ian Schmoyer to Board of Directors

NAPLES, Fla. (Feb. 23, 2026) – Youth Haven, Collier County’s only emergency and residential shelter for abused and neglected children and teens ages 6 to 21, is pleased to announce the appointment of two distinguished community leaders, Matthew Kragh and Ian C. Schmoyer, to its Board of Directors.

Kragh is the founder and president of MHK Architecture, a nationally recognized firm he established in 2009 that has grown to 10 office locations and approximately 130 team members. Under his leadership, MHK has designed award-winning residential and commercial projects from Naples to Aspen. Kragh has received numerous accolades for both his professional excellence and community service, including the Humanitarian of the Year Award from the American Institute of Architects Florida Southwest Chapter and induction into the Junior Achievement Hall of Fame in 2024.

A committed philanthropist, Kragh and his firm regularly donate time and expertise to charitable initiatives. Most recently, as owner of MHK Architecture, he generously donated design services to Youth Haven’s Building Hope for Tomorrow capital campaign, helping bring the vision for expanded campus facilities to life.

Schmoyer serves as chairman, president and CEO of Christopher Alan Homes, the largest privately held homebuilder in Southwest Florida, based on single-family permits in 2024. A second-generation builder and Florida native, Schmoyer founded the company in 2017 and has led its rapid growth, completing more than 3,600 homes to date and earning national recognition on the Builder 100 list in 2024 and 2025. Under his leadership, Christopher Alan Homes has also been recognized as a “Best Place to Work” by Gulfshore Business for three consecutive years and named one of Florida Trend’s Best Companies to Work For in 2025.

Deeply committed to community engagement, Schmoyer supports numerous nonprofit organizations throughout Southwest Florida. He and his wife, Amanda, recently served as Honorary Chairs of Youth Haven’s Cherish the Children Luncheon, demonstrating their shared passion for advancing opportunities and support for vulnerable youth.

“We are thrilled to welcome Matthew and Ian to Youth Haven’s Board of Directors,” said Linda Goldfield, chief executive officer of Youth Haven. “Their leadership, experience and professional expertise, combined with their deep commitment to philanthropy and community impact, will help us strengthen our programs, expand our reach and continue advancing our mission of providing home, hope and healing for children and teens across Southwest Florida.”

Kragh and Schmoyer join a dedicated board of community leaders who provide strategic oversight, governance and advocacy in support of Youth Haven’s comprehensive programs, including emergency shelter, residential care, trauma-informed services, foster and transitional housing, and life skills development.
