Youth Haven awarded $20,000 grant from Publix Super Markets Charities to support youth shelter programs

NAPLES, Fla. (Dec. 9, 2025) – Youth Haven, Collier County’s only emergency and residential shelter for abused and neglected children and teens ages 6 to 21, is proud to announce it has received a $20,000 grant from Publix Super Markets Charities to support its youth shelter programs.

The grant helps provide essential support services for children and teens living on Youth Haven’s 18.5-acre therapeutic campus, including safe shelter, nutritious meals, trauma-informed care, educational support, therapeutic programming, and daily necessities.

“We are incredibly grateful to Publix Super Markets Charities for investing in the children and teens we serve,” said Linda Goldfield, chief executive officer of Youth Haven. “This generous support helps ensure youth experiencing abuse, neglect, homelessness, and family crisis have access to a safe, stable, and nurturing environment where they can begin to heal and build brighter futures.”

Each year, Youth Haven serves approximately 150 unduplicated children and teens throughout Southwest Florida through its emergency shelter, residential program, transitional living program, and outreach services. Many youth arrive on campus having experienced significant trauma, food insecurity, instability, or educational disruption. Through comprehensive trauma-informed care and individualized support, Youth Haven helps youth strengthen emotional regulation, develop healthy coping skills, improve academic engagement, and work toward long-term stability and permanency.

Support from Publix Super Markets Charities helps sustain critical operating needs that keep Youth Haven’s cottages open and staffed 24 hours a day, seven days a week, while ensuring children and teens receive the care, structure, and compassion needed to heal.
