YOUTH HAVEN, INC. AWARDED $25,000 GRANT FROM THE PULTE FAMILY CHARITABLE FOUNDATION

Naples, Fl (January 22, 2022).

Youth Haven, Inc. is pleased to announce they’re a recipient of a $25,000.00 grant from the Pulte Family Charitable Foundation, a private family foundation working to meet the basic human needs of the most marginalized members of the human family. The funds received will benefit Youth Haven’s Food and Nutrition Services Program.

The children and teens that arrive to Youth Haven’s therapeutic campus come from traumatic situations. When youth are malnourished for any length of time or unsure of where their next meal is coming from, it creates a tremendous amount of panic, stress, and anxiety. The feelings of fear are even more significant when food insecurity encompasses sibling groups. To cope with the insecurity, they exhibit hoarding and hide their food. They rush through meals to quickly eat what is on their plate before it is taken away. When youth are provided with nutritionally balanced meals and snacks consistently, as they are at Youth Haven, they begin to thrive. In addition, they are introduced to healthy foods, a well-rounded diet, and learn about making healthy diet choices.

“We’re grateful for the generous funding we have received from Pulte Family Charitable Foundation,” said Linda Goldfield, Youth Haven Executive Director. “With their support, Youth Haven can continue to meet and exceed our vulnerable youth’s food & nutritional needs.”
