YOUTH HAVEN, INC. AWARDED GRANT FROM BAILEY AND FRIENDS

Naples, Fl (January 12, 2022). Youth Haven, Inc. is pleased to announce they’re a recipient of a $2,500.00 grant from Bailey and Friends.

Bailey and Friends was established by the Golisano Foundation in November 2019 to support animal welfare for cats and dogs in Western New York and Southwest Florida. The funds received from Bailey and Friends will benefit Youth Haven’s Animal-Assisted Therapy Program, which was established in 2010 and is a crucial element of Youth Haven’s therapeutic and counseling program.

Animal-Assisted Therapy decreases stress levels, anxiety, depression, and blood pressure. It also improves the child and teen’s ability to communicate and socialize; enhances mood; lowers stress hormones; increases self-esteem; and enables the child & teen to build and develop trusting relationships.

“Youth Haven’s Animal-Assisted Therapy Program plays a significant role on our therapeutic campus, helping our children & teens feel happy, safe, and loved. We’re so grateful for the Golisano Foundation’s support, and we’re proud to be a recipient of a grant from Bailey and Friends,” said Linda Goldfield, Youth Haven Executive Director.

SCHOEN FOUNDATION GRANT TO SUPPORT HOMELESS TEENS

Naples, Fl (January 12, 2022). Youth Haven, Inc. is pleased to announce they received a $250,000 grant from The Schoen Foundation.

The funds will benefit Youth Haven’s Homeless Teen Transitional Living Program (HTTLP), the only program in Collier County for youth experiencing homelessness and needing assistance in making a successful transition to self-sufficient and sustainable living. HTTLP provides our residents with intensive, individualized Case Management, essential for improving the overall health and well-being of unaccompanied homeless teens.

The funding will also help staff Rob’s Group Home, Youth Haven’s Transitional Living Cottage with Youth Empowerment Mentors. It will also provide food, clothing, therapeutic recreation, hygiene supplies, office supplies, computer support, tutoring, college applications, and transportation for the teens to appointments and recreational activities.

Youth Haven, Inc. is grateful to receive a $9,500 grant from the Naples Woman’s Club. The funds will help support local abused & neglected children and teens that depend on Youth Haven for Home, Hope, and Healing.

Youth Haven, located in Naples, is Southwest Florida’s only residential shelter for children and teens removed from their homes due to abuse or neglect. With beds for up to 70 youth, Youth Haven accepts new residents 365 days a year, 24-hours a day. Established in 1972 and in continuous operation for nearly 50 years, Youth Haven provides programs that create transformational change in our youth.

The funding we received from the Naples Woman’s Club will assist various ways, including:

  • The purchase of laptops/Chromebooks to help with homework and communication
  • Clothing and toiletries as many youths arrive at our 15.5-acre campus with just the clothes on their back
  • Food/snacks as we accept children and teens 365 days a year, seven days a week, 24 hours a day, making the need for food a high demand

BANK OF AMERICA GRANT TO SUPPORT HOMELESS TEENS

Youth Haven, Inc. is pleased to announce they received a $7,500.00 grant from Bank of America.

The funds will benefit Youth Haven’s Rapid Re-Housing Program (RRHP) and Homeless Teen Transitional Living Program (HTTLP). RRHP helps provide affordable housing options for youth aging out of our shelter who face homelessness. HTTLP is the only program in Collier County for youth experiencing homelessness and needing assistance in making a successful transition to self-sufficient and sustainable living. HTTLP addresses the various developmental, educational, emotional, social, physical, and mental health needs of homeless youth, utilizes individual service plans, and offers life skills classes that promote independence and housing readiness.

“The generous funding we received from Bank of America will enable us to continue to help homeless teens transition to safe, healthy, and responsible adulthood,” says Linda Goldfield. “We’re extremely thankful for Bank of America’s support.”

YOUTH HAVEN RECEIVES HELP FROM COMMUNITY FOR TEENS TO ATTEND HOMECOMING

Naples, Fl (December 3, 2021). Some of our teens recently had the opportunity to attend their school homecoming dance thanks to the support of our generous community partners.

Youth Haven is Southwest Florida’s only emergency and residential shelter for children and teens removed from their homes due to abuse or neglect. We also have a cottage for teens experiencing homelessness. With beds for up to 70 youth, Youth Haven accepts new residents 365 days a year, 24-hours a day.

From dresses, to hair styling, to transportation and dinner, our partners went all out, ensuring our teens had a much deserved, memorable evening!

A special “Thank you” to:

YOUTH HAVEN, INC. ANNOUNCES NEW APPOINTMENT TO BOARD OF DIRECTORS

Naples, Fl (December 3, 2021). Youth Haven, Inc. is pleased to welcome Ingrid Aielli, Owner, Restaurateur & Philanthropist, to their Board of Directors, effective November 2021.

Born and raised in Bratislava, Slovakia, Ingrid met her husband Fabrizio in 1989. After living in Venice, Italy, they moved to Washington DC in the 1990’s where she honed her hospitality and management skills and established three highly acclaimed restaurants. In Washington, she launched her stellar business reputation that political, diplomatic, and celebrity clients patronized from around the world.

While in Washington, Ingrid also began her involvement with local and national charities and was recognized as the 2001 Woman of the Year by the National Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. Ingrid brought her passion for supporting charities and her local community when she moved to Naples, Florida in 2007.

In Naples, they established the Aielli Group which consists of four local exclusive restaurants. Ingrid and Fabrizio are partners of this growing enterprise with Ingrid’s management skills and social acumen one of the major keys to the success of the Aielli Group. Ingrid manages restaurant operations along with her more public role as an active generous member of the Naples philanthropic community.

Youth Haven, Inc. is grateful to receive a $40,000 grant from the McCune Family Foundation. The funds received will support its Homeless Teen Transitional Living Program. Established in 1972 and in continuous operation for nearly 50 years, Youth Haven supports children and teens removed from their homes due to abuse or neglect.

Youth Haven’s Homeless Teen Transitional Living Program (HTTLP) is the only program in Collier County for teens experiencing homelessness and needing assistance in making a successful transition to self-sufficient and sustainable living.  The program addresses the various developmental, educational, emotional, social, physical, and mental health needs of homeless youth and utilizes individual service plans. It offers life skills classes that promote independence and housing readiness. All youth ages 14 and older who reside in our foster care group homes can attend the classes. Teens who live in our Transitional Living Cottage, Rob’s Group Home, partake in this program. In its fourth year of operation, Rob’s Group Home provides comprehensive 24-hour care, with a longer average length of stay for homeless unaccompanied youth ages 16 to 19.

HOST A HOLIDAY DONATION DRIVE – Host a Holiday Donation Drive at your business or organization. You will receive an assortment of gift tags with a requested gift listed on the tag that your team can collect.

PURCHASE AN ITEM FROM OUR WISH LIST – Our children and teens provided us with their holiday wishes, and we need help purchasing the items. On the Wish List, you’ll see a variety of requests for toys, electronics, and gift cards. An Amazon wish list is also available at www.YouthHavenSWFL.org.

DONATE SUPPLIES – Donations of wrapping paper, bows, scissors, and tape are greatly appreciated. We’re also in need of all types of batteries so that the kids can play with their new toys on Christmas day!

Youth Haven, Inc. is pleased to welcome Colonel Jim Bloom, Undersheriff, to their Board of Directors, effective October 2021.

Colonel Bloom began his career with the Collier County Sheriff’s Office in 1993 as a Corrections Deputy. He has since served various positions during his 28-year tenure, including Patrol Deputy, Vice Narcotics Bureau Investigator/Undercover Detective, Captain of the Special Operations Division, and Chief of the Operations Department. As Undersheriff, Bloom manages more than 1,400 members and over 60 departments and divisions. He administers the Sheriff’s Office policies and develops new management practices, promoting Sheriff Kevin Rambosk’s vision and advancing cultural equity.

Colonel Bloom is a graduate of the FBI National Academy, has a Master’s Science Degree in Public Administration from Central Michigan University, and a Master’s Degree in Homeland Defense and Security from the Naval Postgraduate School Center for Homeland Defense and Security. He is an active member of the community, involved with various local organizations. “I believe in the mission of Youth Haven. I am committed to protecting and empowering Collier County’s youth and have built a career around their safety and security,” said Bloom. “I believe by working together, we can give the children the opportunity for a better future.”
